FREE- Smudge Stick Workshop

  • Albany Public Library & Zoom 166 Washington Avenue Albany, NY, 12210 United States (map)

Need some healing energy?

ONLINE ZOOM PROGRAM

Smudge sticks are bundles of dried, fragrant herbs. Burning these herbs in order to prevent illness, ward off negative energy, or cleanse a space, person or group, is a tradition that goes back thousands of years.
In this online workshop, Tatiana Gjergji of Noteworthy Resources will explain the background and healing properties of smudge sticks, and demonstrate how to craft, dry, and use one.  After this virtual program, guests who attended  may pick up  a free kit  consisting of a handcrafted, fresh-herb smudge stick and  a packet of handouts.

The handouts will include the history of smudging, how to make and use smudge sticks, how the different colored string, herbs, roses and flowers correlate with our chakras, what all the herbs represent and their healing properties, etc. For the smudge stick, Tatiana will provide  fresh locally grown flowers (roses, wildflowers) and herbs (sage, lavender, cedar, rosemary, thyme, and oregano) from her gardens in Catskill & Albany, NY.
