Cacao Ceremony & Ecstatic Dance

  • Noteworthy Center 930 Broadway Albany, NY, 12207 United States (map)

A cacao ceremony is a tradition that dates back hundreds of years, to pre-colonial time, in Central and South America. Cacao has been known in these cultures as a heart opener and heart healer.

Walk-ins welcome— Pay at the door. We accept cash and credit.

Sharing this type of space can be a gentle yet powerful experience for participants. Surrendering during a cacao ceremony leads to reconnecting to yourself, deeper connection with others, uplifting your spirit, opening your heart, and so much more!

Cacao ceremonies are often paired with Ecstatic Dance, a form of dance in which the dancers abandon themselves to the rhythm and move freely as the music takes them, leading to trance and a feeling of ecstasy.

In the ancient and widespread practice of shamanism, ecstatic dance and music are used to alter consciousness in spiritual practices
