We also will be doing a arts/crafts activity associated with the topic!
This meet-up provides a safe space to become comfortable around others regarding our mental wellness.
Our goal is to empower and educate guests to access support and resources to increase their mental health well-being by meeting monthly and providing a safe atmosphere for all humans to share insights and strategies to strengthen and adapt healthy coping skills.
This meet-up DOES NOT replace therapy in any way.
About our guest speaker:
“My name is Adrianne Shaw and I have been diagnosed bipolar for about 15yrs now. I have been in recovery for almost 4yrs which has taught me to live life rather than just survive myself everyday. Before recovery, I utilized street drugs to maintain my highs and lows as well as to numb traumatic experiences I have endured. In my experience to stop using drugs was easy and facing myself was the hardest most courageous decision of my life. With help of my support network, trauma therapist, and the footwork on my part I have grown to love the person I am today.”
” I went from thinking I was nothing but a loser, drug addict, liar, theif, and worthless human being to seeing the beauty, truth, winner, and loving person I am today. I look at myself as a spiritual being having a human experience to learn and grow through life's obstacles. I went from being the villain in my story to my own super hero. I do not defy myself of my past rather than embrace them to being the woman I am today. Today I show up for myself which allows me to show up for others.“
